Steve Fisher

It has been a very difficult and painful day for me. I am still in a very fragile state, but before I lay down to rest for the evening, I wanted to thank all of you for your phone calls, text messages, and Facebook messages. Your kinds words and sending of love has helped during this stressful time. I am sorry if I haven't responded yet, but I am having a hard time composing myself. I have read all the messages and listened to all the calls, but I just can't get a handle on things right now so bare with me, and soon I will get back to all of you.
It warms my heart to know that my brother, Steve Fisher, has touched your hearts in so many ways. It shows by the outpouring of your love. He was blessed with many friends and a supporting family. I am thankful that he isn't suffering, but there is a hole in my heart that can't be filled. I have lost my parents, and now my brother! Words can't express the ache that I am feeling. We were so close to getting the transplant, but his tired body was depleted.
If there is anything you can do, love the ones you have, hug and kiss them, cherish your moments together, mend relationships if there is turmoil, and give thanks, and help those in need.
I ask God to give me strength during this difficult time!
Dennis, Dennielle and Curtis, Courtney and Eric, Lanie, any myself are comforted by your love and appreciate all of you!
Thank you so much! God bless all of you!

My love and respect for Steve started the day I met him when he was only 19 years old. How can anyone not love him.
This is the letter I wrote him on his Birthday Feb. 14, 8 days before his passing. His reply to me was in his soul"s decision to pass over. How blessed we all were for those who really knew him.

Hi Steve,
Wanted to take this time to wish you a most Happy Birthday. I often think of how difficult it must be for you with all that you have to deal with in your life.
Just the therapy alone would drive me up the wall. I am looking forward to coming to LA in October again. I would love to do another seminar at your school to help raise some funds to help with your expenses. Also if its possible to spend a night with you, I loved us watching sports; boxing, UFC, or just talking about anything, whatever.
Also want to say how much a respect what you have accomplished and achieved. You have accomplished more than I ever did in karate competition. You won more tournament in kata and sparring than I ever did. You have done it with class and integrity. You have brought honor and respect and have been a true shinning example to everyone of what a true champion is all about. I am so proud of you more for the man and person you have become. You have gained the respect, love and admiration from your peers. Few people in our art and sport can truly say that.
God does not give difficult challenges to weak people. He knows you can handle anything that is why you too have chosen to have the experiences you are having. All the things that are asked of you to do to get on the list for a transplant I too believe you can do them. You could not have achieved all that you did without the courage, drive, desire and passion to do them. You use those same qualities to live and get through this. I believe in you, always have, always will, no matter what you do. I got your back, I"m with you to the end, count me in 100%.
Happy Birthday my Son,
Mike

Mike Stone

Rest in peace sensei fisher. You had a great influence on my life as well as others when it came to competition. I remember It was all about winning and being the best. You taught me how to be great at something I loved. How to be humble and treat competitors with respect cause you knew how they trained so hard, like you, to win. This is how real champions became champions. Hard work, dedication, and determination and just wanting to be the best at that one thing that you love the most. Sorry I"m getting a little emotional but real martial artists know what I"m talking about. I love karate and karate will always love me back.
