Bethe's Martial Arts was established in 1993 with its main focus on teaching children. After seeing the positive changes in students of the martial arts classes, including more respect, focus, confidence, and fitness, Mr. Bethel built the current location.
With a focus on self-displine, respect, modesty, and integrity - many of the black belt students have gone on to become pillars in the community.
Mr. Bethel started his martial arts journey in 1983 while serving in the United States Navy. After serving 4 years in the U.S. Navy Mr. Bethel returned to southern Illinois. When his son turned 4 he decided pick up training again and share his love with his family.
Mr. Bethel started training in Kenpo Karate as well as Tae Kwon Do. After receiving black belts in both of these styles, the Filipino martial art of Serrada Eskrima was introduced. While continuing to train in Tae Kwon Do the thirst for knowledge in different martial arts continued.
In 2002 Mr. Bethel sought out Bruce Lee's #1 student, Dan Inosanto. After that first class, it was apparent for Mr. Bethel that everything he had found everything he'd been searching for. Mr. Bethel currently trains and / or holds instructor credentials in the following martial arts:
Kali, Silat, Thai Boxing (Muay Thai), Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, Wing Chun, and Bruce Lee's Jun Fan Gung Fu.
